Purified Water at Down Under Yoga

Purified water for before and after class

Down Under Yoga Studio is tucked away in Newtonville Center in the same block as the popular Newtonville Books, Newtonville Pizza, and the CVS. In fact the studio is on the lower level next to the CVS. Enter the studio and enjoy the calm ambiance. The space has been crafted with an eye for beauty and mindful sensibility. The walls are a gallery of extraordinary black and white photos of yogis of all ages and styles. Every convenience has been thought out to allow total focus on practice time on the mat. Place your belongings in a handy locker, enjoy a glass a purified water, then enter your class and be with the moment.

The business concept is brilliant and unique.  Down Under Yoga Studio offers classes and different workshops in three different styles of yoga broken down into three levels. The teachers are seasoned and have a reputation for excellence. The clear and informative web site makes it easy to browse the selection of classes and register on line. The staff is warm and welcoming.

In addition to the regularly scheduled classes, some which allow drop-ins, there are many special workshops. For example:

An Evening Meditation Experience-The Radiance Sutras

with Lorin Roche, Camille Maurine and Chanel Luck – Friday July 29th 6:30-8:30pm
We are delighted to present meditation teachers Lorin Roche and Camille Maurine for an unforgettable evening of learning, breathing, and tapping into life’s fullest potential through sacred teachings. This workshop explores the luminous teachings of the Vijnana Bhairava Tantra (The Radiance Sutras), an ancient text describing 112 meditation & awareness practices for touching the sacred in daily life. Translated by Roche, the Radiance Sutras evoke a sense of wonder and delight, viewing every breath, sensual experience and emotion as a doorway to prana, the energy of life. The practices include mudra (energy gestures), pranayama (breath), mantra (sound), and dhyana (meditation). You will be guided to experience meditation like you never have before. No experience necessary, please come with an open heart and mind, beginners are welcome and encouraged to attend. Down Under’s Chanel Luck has studied extensively with Lorin Roche and Camille Maurine and looks forward to sharing their beauty with you.
