Spring is sprouting everywhere and the increase in the number of Newton and Brookline single family homes and condominiums sold in March shows an upward turn. Spring market usually does bloom, however, and it will be interesting to watch what happens as we move through summer and into the end of the year. Experts feel the market will continue to adjust through the end of the year. NAR reports a rise in existing home sales in March.

In any event, for those thinking of selling, this is an optimistic market. Keep in mind that in order to determine market value, it is important to look closely at the detail behind summary numbers. Your Realtor® will help you study the sold properties that are of a similar type and location to your home. He or she will also watch the market with you over time to see where the pending sales come in at closing.
